This month, as far as I know, I've lost about six pounds or so. I'm guesstimating, because, if you recall, I made the mistake of not weighing myself on my scale at home and instead relied on the scale at the doctor's office as my starting point. My comparison is skewed.
While I'm on the complaining track, let me just moan and groan about the early morning gym adventure. It's lost it's excitement, it's zing, it's appeal. It's not novel any more and has become routine. And I'm none too thrilled about getting out of my cozy warm bed in the mornings during these crisp fall Colorado mornings. But, I have started going earlier to lengthen my workout by about ten minutes. In order to lengthen it even more, I'll have to go back to the gym in the afternoons since it opens at 5 AM and I need to be at work at 6 AM. My time is a bit limited in the mornings.
If anyone has any encouraging words for my lack luster pound lossage, I'd be very appreciative! I know a woman's body frequently changes and that can alter the scale and I also know that I can't rely solely on the number on the scale but sometimes, that's all I see and I end up getting down on myself.
I'm not sure how to remind myself that there are other measurements of weight loss. Many people tell me to measure myself to record loss of inches. I typically nod my head and say "yeah, I probably should do that", but in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "you find a measuring tape big enough to go around me, and then maybe I'll do it".

I'm pretty sure I don't see much difference just yet. What do you think?
On a lighter note, I'd like to share this recipe for lighter chocolate chip cookies. They are in no way fat or calorie free so portion size is still very important, but they are healthier than regular chocolate chip cookies. And, THEY'RE DELICIOUS!!!!! I mean, really, really good!! You'd never know that there is whole wheat flour and less fat in them so be careful! I'm warning you, people! Be careful! Yum!

This little easy "treat" was not so yummy. Not a treat really. The picture makes it look creamy and delicious but instead it was frozen solid and crunchy because of the ice crystals which formed from the yogurt. It was just a flop. I wouldn't suggest it as yogurt doesn't freeze so well.

Plump girl problem #9:
Being careful not to kick someone
as you try to cross your legs
and then realizing,
you can't actually cross your legs.
*** UPDATE!! I took the advice of a friend and went back to the doctor's office to weigh myself yesterday. I then went home and weighed myself there and did the math. Turns out, I've actually lost 14 pounds!! Yippee!!

way to go! 14 lbs is AMAZING! at times it is difficult to focus on the journey and not the destination. try and remember you are WORTH getting out of bed for! you are WORTH the sweat! and so is that wonderful hubby of yours : )
ReplyDeleteCongratulations lady!!! You look great!!! I know it is such a pain but you are doing it. Every single day you are making that choice to get out of bed and get that much closer to a healthier you. No matter what that scale says or any measuring tape can show you, you are doing it!
